A just energy transition involves and benefits all citizens, no matter where they live or how much they earn. The Citizens Energy Package initiative will set out how the EU plans to protect and involve consumers by enabling them and communities to save, produce and consume (renewable) energy; supporting vulnerable households in energy poverty; turning the challenges for regions and communities affected by fossil fuel phase-out into opportunities, such as the creation of clean jobs and quality of life improvements.

The Call for evidence is open for feedback until 11/09/2025.

The public consultation is also open until 11/09/2025. The target audience are national authorities, regulators, industry (DSOs, suppliers), other civil society organisations and individual consumers.
